### 🛠️ Before Contacting Support

Before sending a support request, check the relevant documentation first:

* [**API Key and Authentication Issues**](/troubleshooting/api-key-and-authentication-issues.md) — `401` and authentication problems
* [**Model and Request Errors**](/troubleshooting/model-and-request-errors.md) — model IDs, parameters, and `400` / `403` errors
* [**Balance and Usage Limit Issues**](/troubleshooting/balance-and-usage-limit-issues.md) — `402`, balance, and `429`
* [**Timeout and Connection Issues**](/troubleshooting/timeout-and-connection-issues.md) — timeouts and temporary `5xx` errors
* [**HTTP Status Codes and API Errors**](/troubleshooting/http-status-codes-and-api-errors.md) — complete error reference

This may help you resolve common issues more quickly.

### 📋 What to Include

For API-related issues, include enough information for the support team to identify the request:

* Request ID
* Request time
* API endpoint
* Model ID
* HTTP status code
* Error code and error message
* Relevant request parameters
* Screenshot or log excerpt, if useful

For billing or payment issues, include the relevant **Order ID** or **Request ID** when available.

Providing these details can help reduce unnecessary back-and-forth.

### 🔒 Do Not Share Your Full API Key

Never send your full API Key in a support request.

If a screenshot, command, or log contains your API Key, remove or mask it before sending.

For example:

```
sk-********************************abcd
```

If you believe an API Key has been exposed, disable or replace it from the ApiSmart Console.

See [**Secure Your API Keys**](/welcome-to-apismart/api-keys/secure-your-api-keys.md) for more information.

### 🔎 Find a Request ID

For API request issues, open:

**Console → Usage Logs**

Locate the affected request and copy its **Request ID**.

Request IDs are especially useful when troubleshooting failed requests, unexpected costs, or model errors.
